Research on the practices of reconstruction after destruction: Poland

Mariia Mygal

The World War II caused enormous damage to Poland. It lost 50% of its railway infrastructure, 55% of its healthcare infrastructure, more than 64% of its chemical industry, and almost 60% of its electrical industry. In total, the Germans destroyed 38% of Poland’s national wealth.

How did this country manage to recover from the war and occupation and become one of the leading countries in Europe? What recovery practices can Ukraine adopt?
