The Institute for Analytics and Advocacy together with the DREAM <\/a>Project Office invite you to the experience exchange session “Recovering Ukraine: Seoul’s experience and digital solutions that worked”<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 9 November, 9:30 – 11:00, within the framework of the discussion platform initiated by the Institute for Analysis and Advocacy, an event aimed at studying the experience of rebuilding countries affected by large-scale natural and\/or military disasters will be held for the second time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

South Korea has gone from being devastated by the Korean War to becoming one of the most developed and technologically advanced countries in the world. A large-scale reconstruction programme was one of the components of this success. However, the construction boom of the 1990s and early 2000s was accompanied by poor workmanship and quality, which led to the collapse of some infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2012, the Seoul Metropolitan Government developed the Clean Construction System, an anti-corruption system that allows for transparent construction. It is an online system that allows for systematic management of public construction projects in real time and automatically transmits 90% of relevant information for public disclosure to a website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Currently, Ukraine is actively implementing the DREAM digital ecosystem for accountable reconstruction management, which ensures the highest standards of integrity, efficiency and transparency in the reconstruction of Ukraine to build trust between the government, citizens, businesses and financial institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting will serve as a platform for the exchange of experience between Clean Construction System implementers, representatives of the Seoul City Hall and the DREAM <\/a>Project Office. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the challenges, features, and lessons learned that Ukraine should consider when creating digital solutions for transparent and efficient implementation of community-based restoration projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting will be held within the framework of the USAID\/ENGAGE activity, which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by Pact in Ukraine.
